Aylin Abbasi

Aylin Abbasi is an Iranian interdisciplinary feminist artist whose practice explores oppression in her social and political life experiences. Abbasi is an MFA candidate at the University of Ottawa. She was the director at ‘Tajrobeh Design Studio’ in Tehran and an official member of Tehran’s Motion Graphics Designers Association. Abbasi is exploring her new identity and trying to figure out who she is and what has changed in her new North American context.

Ash Barbu

Ash Barbu is an artist, curator, and educator whose work examines the relationship between trans autobiography, queer theory and curatorial studies. They hold an M.A. in Art History from the University of Toronto. Recently, they were the Guest Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Ottawa’s Department of Visual Arts and a Research Fellow at Visual AIDS, New York. 

Armin Shohrati

Armin Shohrati is an Iranian graphic designer, video artist, photographer, and filmmaker. He has a BA in Visual Arts & Visual Communication Design from Eastern Mediterranean University in Cyprus. He has been a member of the Tehran Motion Graphics Association and the Iranian Contemporary Artists Association since 2020. “Pass it to Soudeh” received the award for the best short selfie film at the Selfi20 film festival in 2021.

xuan currently practices various creative involvements on unceded Algonquin territory. They are a Vietnamese, second-generation settler eager to question and reflect on conceptions of embodiment, access to resources and life chances.
